OUR NEW DECK!!!

The deck has been a mess for awhile...as you know. SOOOOO.....Denny began replacing bad boards, built steps (yes, he did) and built a new corner....THEN...Rachel came in Wednesday night and worked like a dog all day Thursday, Friday and then she and Den finished Saturday. And here are the pictures of the wonderful new deck....my curtains are open to the deck (I am no longer hiding the deck) and it is beautiful. My portion of the work...I had Rachel buy red spray paint and then told Denny to paint the old UGLY plastic chairs and they are adorable...shabby chic. Why don't we have pictures of Rachel and Denny working on the deck, you ask....I DO NOT KNOW WHERE MY HEAD WAS!!! But here are pictures of our deck now...Rachel has gone home (audible sigh) and We thank her publicly, lovingly and gratefully.

The photos do not capture the change enough. Also, we had a revolving door of friends visiting Rachel over the weekend.

It looks unbelievable I am very impressed. Rachel and Dad did an amazing job. Although I will miss the trapdoor (it was actually just a piece of wood that when you stepped on one end the other would come up).

You guys rock

I am very happy with how it turned out! And am more happy that I had such a great time with the parentals in Spokane. And also surprised that Mom did mentioned us getting locked out, dad giving me a boost into the window, and me shimmying in. A fabulous weekend.

Yes, Rachel did Shimmy into the front window with dad hoisting her up...I got quite a chuckle but she was adorable...Dad leaves tomorrow for Texas (2nd time in a month)so I am really feeling lonely...love that deck!!

I don't think I ever saw the deck except for when it was covered with snow and we went out to sled/snowboard off it. It looks great though. Maybe you guys can help my dad with his deck now. You go out the sliding glass door and then drop two feet to the ground . . .

Stefany glad for the heads up about your dad's deck...we had fun sledding off the deck, didn't we? It looks so fabulous now...now on to the garden boxes and getting our plants in out front.
