They say when you make a plan God laughs....

So I went into the Orthopedic Surgeon with a PLAN...Total knee replacement the week of April 14th, thus allowing me at the end of the 8 weeks off from work to attend my daughter Sarah's wedding with a new knee...seemed SO good, seemed SO simple, seemed SO organized. I also wanted to have it done at Deaconess Medical Center because I know that hospital and they have private rooms only (which seems so simple for a hosptal...who wants to be with a stranger when you are at your VERY worst) and SO...I am having a total knee replacement JUNE 14TH at Sacred Heart Medical Center...AUDIBLE SIGH. No private rooms....AUDIBLE SIGH. The doctor said this would be a good time to lose weight...ANOTHER, LOUDER, AUDIBLE SIGH.

PS...pictures and stories will be forthcoming re: the visits of Becca, Ashton, Ella and Piper AND Andy, Stefany and Macy.

I am still sighing audibly...it is no fun...and my knee now hurts even when I drive...just a new symptom...at least I have beautiful children who love and adore me and a wonderful husband so I will stop complaining now.

Okay now. I have been working towards a knee replacement since 2008. First Orthopedic surgeon wanted me to lose over 100 pounds, but he hired a new guy specialist on whole knee replacements and he said it might help but weight loss not a limiting factor. I am watching my personal time bank to allow enough recuperation at full pay. Tough, since I started this contractor only 3 1/2 years ago. However, I saw a lady at the temple a couple weeks ago, walking with a cane. I asked how long since the knee replacement--she said "four weeks"! So I am excited--if she can go to the temple after four weeks, I can surely return to my sedentary job in three! We'll see. Keep us informed, Denise.
