Remember the Alamo

Here are a couple of pictures from the San Antonio trip: The Alamo and the Riverwalk (Mom, I gave a shout out to Cloak and Dagger for you). We had a great time. And the 70 degree weather really just made me very excited for the cruise!!!

For about 5 years when I worked at the Umatilla Depot, they would send me to San Antonio every year. I feel like an expert, even to knowing which restaurants to go to and which nights (cajun seafood, bar-b-que, tex-mex--in that order). The missions, the Gulf of Mexico (a couple hours drive), Goliad, the LDS temple, the grotto and the river walk! Got caught in a flash flood once and prayed the car would make it back through the rushing waterfilled streets to my hotel. Heck, I even went out to China Grove just to say I'd been there--don't bother, it's much smaller than Airway Heights. Fun town, but more fun when you get to the suburbs and taste better food for less money. Let me know next time you go, and I'll give you my exclusive hints.

Once again, glad to see DJCK in the mix. I love the pictures. You look fabulous! I have wanted to see the Alamo ever since John Wayne died there...and you know how I feel about Cloak and Dagger. There was snow on the ground this morning so being in the 70's sounds fabulous and I cannot wait to see you at the cruise.
And, yes I would want to see Dustin Hoffman save the Alamo

I am usually able to follow these conversations...however...what does Dustin Hoffman have to do with the Alamo?

Why do you not have pictures from the basement of the Alamo?

Sarah,

Mom answered the question on Dustin..."While you were sleeping" dinner scene. how could I have missed it?

Just remember the magic word, "Papadeaux". Then, just try to resist the crawdad bisque. I even ate the alligator appetizer. Yum

Again, so happy to see Dennis J McCain here...makes me happy and I am actually smiling.

Just 5 more days until we meet and rally in Florida, enjoy the sun and beach, hit the cruise ship, eat, have fun, swim with the dolphins, eat, laugh, eat, visit the private island, eat and back to Florida for a visit to one of "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" recommended eateries...Yeah...too bad I do not enjoy eating!

Okay, I'll be the last one to know--what does Dustin Hoffman have to do with the Alamo? I know the siege at the Alamo took weeks, but the actual attack was over in 45 minutes! And, of course, the latest is that Davey Crockett was captured alive and shot by a firing squad! The best part of the alamo for me was the oak tree with 40 foot long branches that had to be supported. My David would go crazy to see them! TTFN
